Velinac Beach detail
Karlobag is the largest town of the 120 km long Adriatic coastline between Senj and
, below the Velebit range. It's
located near the ferry to Pag Island in Prizna and one of the few roads that cross
Velebit has its Adriatic end here. Because of its location Karlobag might be a holiday
destination for those for whom the sea is not a top priority, still, would not like to miss swimming in the sea, either.
Karlobag can be better choice for those who would like to explore Velebit, wander and hike in
There are two developed beaches in the town. The bigger one is the beach of Hotel Zagreb - part of that beach is covered
with pebbles to ease the access to the sea, the other part is concrete covered with terraces for sunbathing. The other
beach is called Velinac or Gradska (Town) beach and is situated on the eastern end of the town, below the church ruins.
Like on Zagreb Beach, the shore here, too, has pebbles - or even gravel, as the stones are of smaller size here and has
concrete covered sections, as well. One other alternative place for bathing is Tatinja Bay on the western end of
Karlobag - it's undeveloped coast in its natural settings.
Two hotels in the town, a campsite out of the town to east and several rented private apartments and rooms provide
accommodation for guests. Supermarket, groceries, fishmarket, bakeries, restaurants and bars offer a complete spectrum of
services for those who spend their vacations in Karlobag.
